  PEST CONTROL IN AUSTRALASIA (Contacts)     There has been
  considerable biological control activity in Australia, New Zealand and
  portions of Indonesia by governmental agencies. The pests subjected to
  biological control in Indonesia, northern Australia and New Guinea were
  exclusively tropical, attacking primarily oil and coconut palms, rubber and
  cocoa trees and rice, although there has also been some effort against scale
  insects on citrus. In Australia and New Zealand both tropical and temperate
  zone pests have been subjected to biological control, some with considerable
  success. Because of climatic and pest similarities between Australia western
